About me
Kerry Campbell is a Language Instructor for the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL). She has over twenty years' experience in international LAC curriculum development designed for multilingual classroom environments. (LAC - language/literacy across curriculum)
Kerry approaches teaching and learning with an asset-based philosophy, emphasizing the recognition and appreciation of each learner's unique strengths and variations. She values the individual differences that students bring to the classroom and integrates content, language, and literacy development to support holistic growth. By employing culturally and linguistically sustaining instructional and assessment practices, Kerry hopes to ensure her learners feel respected and included. Additionally, she collaborates intentionally and consistently with her teaching colleagues, attempting to foster a supportive and cohesive educational environment.
She now lives in Invermere BC, a remote Kootenays community. Her ongoing interest in educational technology naturally led her to adopt Avenue and explore its classroom applications and ability to connect learners in rural areas.
